The Los Angeles College Promise (LACP) serves first-time college students with a comprehensive strategy designed to support students to complete a higher education degree and/or a workforce certificate. We help students "start right" on their way to "ending right" with a degree, university transfer or workforce certificate in a timely, efficient manner. Your first step to free tuition is to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act application. See additional information on our "APPLY" page.

Don't delay! Make one of the Los Angeles Community College District's nine colleges your first choice to complete your higher education goals!
The Los Angeles College Promise provides one year of free enrollment to all full-time students graduating from LAUSD and charter high schools. Included in this program are priority enrollment, placement in math and English courses required to succeed in college and career support and counseling.
I would definitely recommend the Promise Program to incoming freshmen! I enjoyed this program throughout my freshman year of college. The counselors are helping me get the classes that I need and are helping me graduate on time and have the right amount of units.
The Promise Program was a great thing that happened to me because the staff has been able to encourage me to keep pushing through school. Before coming to college, I thought I was going to be alone but it turned out that if I need help with anything the Promise Program team is there for me. I encourage every high school graduate to sign up for Promise because the team here is there to help you.
I really enjoyed the Promise Program because they guided me to take the right courses that I need. They provide you with what you need in a course and, if they cannot, they try their best to help you. The Promise Program feels like a second home.
The Promise Program has helped me pursue my dreams. They help you with books and your classes and always keep you on track. I will definitely recommend this to other students who are going to graduate from high school. As a first-generation college student, I didn't know anything, but the Promise Program has helped me understand college life.
The Promise Program has been a great experience since entering college. Without it, I would probably be lost on this campus and I would be so confused on how to register into my classes as well as how many units I would need to finish and be ready to start my next adventure. The counselors are amazing and they really care about us going to the next level and they helped me figure out how everything works, such as how to register, how to maintain your GPA and what classes to take to graduate and also if you're falling behind they will have your back. Ultimately, they want you to succeed and do your best but the decision is all yours.
